Early this month, Senator John Kerry introduced new legislation that would help provide tax breaks to small brewers. Senator Kerry acknowledges that small and craft brewers are a vital part of our economy. With the ever increasing interest in craft beer and beer culture, small brewers represent an increasing niche of American entrepreneurial spirit. A tax break will certainly encourage more people to get involved in the process and to help smaller companies to expand and increase distribution.
For years, "good beer" was imported from Europe. However, in recent years we have seen real beer innovation in American incorporating new and unique flavors and breaking from traditional paradigms. As a result, we can hope to increase global exports of our fine products – wouldn't it be great to know that beer helps to fuel or gross domestic exports?
The initiative was fueled by work by the Brewer's Association. For more information, check out their resources page by clicking here.
