So what is this site all about?

The BeerNewb.com website is designed as an edutainment website covering all aspects of beer. Our core mission is to provide informational resources as well as articles about the basic of beer and barware. We hope that through providing this information we can breed a new generation of intelligent beer drinkers. We believe that beer, like all drinks, should be appreciated for its unique flavors and characteristics, and that brewing is truly a craft and an art. While we totally support each individual's personal drinking preferences, we believe that an intelligent beer drinker doesn't drink for the purpose of getting drunk, but to truly appreciate the complex composition of his beer. But there is more to beer than picking up the glass and swallowing. Did you know that the glass you choose or the way that beer is poured can noticeably change your beer drinking experience? To further enhance your enjoyment of beer, we will work to find and produce relevant articles and information resources to help further your beer education.

There is also a culture, and subculture associated with beer. From the bar-hoper to the home brewer, we hope to help expose visitors to different aspects of the beer culture and provide useful resources and connections resources. We have scoured the Internet for the best Beer TV and web clips, interesting blogs, and other resources. We also provide book and video reviews to help you increase your own personal beer library. Who is The Beer Newb?

The guy writing this page, me :-). My name is Eric, I am really good with computer, but I am not yet a Beer Master. Seth, also known as The Beer Snob on the site, is a masterful drinker with an experienced palette. At one time I was truly a Beer Newb, I didn’t know the difference between a Pilsner and a Lager and I was always nervous about “the proper protocol” at various bars. Over time, I have worked to learn the ways of Beer-Foo thanks to my friend Seth. One day, we decided to combine my computer skills with Seth’s beer knowledge and to share our wisdom with the rest of the world. We wanted to expose people all over the world to the joy of intelligent beer drinking and to help remove the stigma that beer is a dumb-man’s (or woman’s) drink. This site is our continuing work to bring beer knowledge and beer culture to the masses. We really hope that you enjoy our site and learn something while you are here.
